Wisconsin Employment Defense Lawyer
Oyvind Wistrom is a shareholder with the law firm of Lindner & Marsack, S.C. His practice is primarily focused on the litigation of employment matters, discrimination and retaliation claims, equal employment matters, and a variety of employment related torts and contract actions. An experienced labor and employment attorney, Mr. Wistrom has obtained summary judgment for defendants in countless employment related lawsuits. He has also served as first chair in numerous trials in both federal and state court and has successfully defended appeals of favorable employment decisions before the Seventh Circuit Courts of Appeals. In addition, Mr. Wistrom represents clients before various administrative tribunals, where he handles discrimination, retaliation, harassment, wage and hour matters, and all other related employment claims. He has also successfully litigated a variety of constitutional and civil rights matters in both state and federal courts on behalf of public sector clients.
In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Wistrom frequently counsels both private and public sector employers on a variety of employment matters with a proactive approach intended to avoid litigation. He also is involved in the drafting and enforcement of employment contracts, non-compete agreements, as well as the development of personnel policies and procedures for his clients.
Mr. Wistrom also devotes a significant portion of his practice to assisting and counseling clients in various employment matters and rights and responsibilities in the workplace as well as frequently speaking on such related areas. The judiciary has named Mr. Wistrom in a number of reported cases where his work has defined or clarified points of law.
Mr. Wistrom is rated as AV by Martindale Hubbell and has been named a "Super Lawyer" by Milwaukee Magazine and Law and Politics for four consecutive years (2009-2012). He was previously named a "Rising Star" by Milwaukee Magazine for four years (2005-2008), a designation that is reserved to the top 2.5 % of all lawyers in the State under the age of 40.
Committed to the community, Mr. Wistrom also serves on the Board of Directors for Volunteers of America - Wisconsin and stays actively involved with a variety of community based organizations.
